Charles Wright (poet)

American writer; University of Virginia professor

Charles Wright (born August 25, ) is an American poet. He shared the National Book Award in for Country Music: Selected Early Poems[1] and won the Pulitzer Prize in for Black Zodiac.[2] From to , he served as the 20th Poet Laureate of the United States.[3]

Early life and education

Wright was born in Pickwick Dam, Tennessee.
