Mr. Albert Sidney Britt III died Monday, December 8, 2003. Born in Savannah, Ga., he was a son of the late Albert Sidney Britt Jr. and Annie McIntosh Britt.

He was the husband of Elinor Furnell Britt and was predeceased by his first wife, Geraldyne Benton Britt.

Britt was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1957, The United States Army Command and General Staff College and the National War College.

He earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of California and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. He was a Regular Army officer for 26 years, leading tank and armored cavalry forces in Korea, Germany, Vietnam, and the Continental United States, including a two-year tour as battalion commander in the 82nd Airborne Division.
